Rev. Charles Onyeneke
Founder
Rev. Charles Onyeneke is
the Founder of the Veronica Onyeneke Foundation. Born and raised in a devout
Catholic family in Umuodu Mbieri, Imo State, Nigeria, Charles witnessed the
powerful example of faith, generosity, and service lived by his parents. This
upbringing inspired his deep devotion to the Church and his calling to the
priesthood.
After completing his
education in philosophy and theology at Seat of Wisdom Seminary, Imo State
University, and the Pontifical Urban University, Rome, Charles continued his
studies in the United States. He earned a Master's degree from Saint Leo
University, Florida, and a Licentiate in Sacred Theology from St. Mary’s Seminary and University, Baltimore, Maryland.
Ordained as a priest for
the Diocese of Albany, New York, in 2020, Rev. Charles now serves as Parochial
Vicar for several parishes in Albany and as Chaplain of All Saints Catholic
Academy. His deep commitment to service extends beyond the Church, as he works
tirelessly to support low-income individuals, sponsor educational opportunities
for students in Nigeria and Rwanda, and empower people through his foundation.
The Veronica Onyeneke
Foundation was established in honor of
his late mother, continuing her legacy of generosity and care for the poor.
Through this foundation, Rev. Fr. Charles is dedicated to providing education,
healthcare, and financial support to vulnerable groups such as children, youth,
widows, and displaced individuals. His mission is to uplift and empower
communities across Nigeria and Africa, offering hope and a better future to
those in need.
